Pi Phi Participates in Greek Week

Black Team
The week of April 9th has proven to be a busy one for Pi Phi, as members of Kansas Beta participate in K-State's Greek Week! This year, the greek community was grouped together in teams to compete in daily events.  Pi Phi is proud to be a part of the Black Team with Delta Upsilon, Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Triangle, Delta Lambda Phi, and Alpha Chi Omega.  Greek Week began on Monday with the Greek Games, a compilation of a trivia contest, relay race, tug of war contest and Black Team's first place win in the dodgeball tournament!  Greeks Got Talent competition and the revealing of our fall homecoming partners took place on Wednesday night.  Pi Phi will compete in Homecoming 2012 with TKE and Phi Delt! Greek Week will come to a close on Friday with all teams joining forces to donate razors, deodorant, and toilet paper for our philanthropy, Giving the Basics.  A Greek Awards banquet will complete the night where results will be announced! This year's Greek Week focused its efforts on promoting unity within the K-State greek community, and teaching our sororities and fraternities how much we can accomplish if we come together.  Go Black Team!

Pi Phi Moms meet Breakfast at Tiffany's

This past weekend, Kansas Beta hosted our annual Mom's Weekend.  Members welcomed their moms to the House of Pi on both Saturday and Sunday morning for a delicious brunch, complete with chocolate covered strawberries and chicken salad croissant sandwiches.  Mothers and daughters were free to tour the house and, on Sunday, check out a variety of vendors set up in the living room.  Jewelry from Stella and Dot, Ray-Ban sunglasses, and Pi Phi attire were all available for purchase.  An elegant dinner and silent auction at the Manhattan Country Club perfected the weekend, with ladies dressed up in pearls and heels to own their inner Audrey Hepburn for this year's Breakfast at Tiffany's theme.  Proceeds from the auction will go toward updates within the Pi Phi House, and members could not be more excited for the changes!

Welcome Home

Returning to textbooks and busy schedules after a relaxing week of spring break may not be cause for celebration, but Pi Phi has made it a bit more enjoyable with stunning scenery and the aroma of spring.  The women of 1819 Todd Rd. are welcomed back by the beautiful blooms of our Redbud trees! We are some lucky K-State angels :)

Pi Phi Presents 'Read On Mon'

With spring quickly approaching, Kansas Beta is gearing up for our annual philanthropy, Speedo Read! Speedo Read will take place this Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the K-State Natatorium.  Pi Phi's very own 'water olympics' brings the greek community together for some friendly competition in four water-related events: the Splash Contest, the Diving Contest, Synchronize Swimming, and a Relay Race.  We guarantee you don't have to be on Michael Phelps' level to compete in these events.  Speed Read is simply a fun way to let loose and raise funds for Read. Lead. Achieve. We're looking forward to this year's Jamaican theme, and hope to gain support for literacy!

Homecoming

The week of October 24th, K-State hosted the university week-long homecoming competition. During this week, we were paired up with two fraternities, Acacia and Alpha Gamma Rho. Together we worked to create a chant, dance, window art and a float. Each night of the week had an event, and the week ended with a game against the University of Oklahoma. We had a great time getting to know our partners, and we are very proud of all we accomplished this week.
